North Island: Volcanic Peaks

The mountain peaks of the North Island

New Zealand’s North Island boasts a captivating array of volcanic peaks, shaped by millennia of geological activity. Two of them have perfectly shaped cones: Mount Taranaki and Mount Ngāuruhoe. Both these mountains are located in national parks: Egmont National Park and Tongariro National Park respectively, and they not only showcase natural beauty but also hold cultural significance.
