Exhibition: The Magic of Fog and Light in Hawke’s Bay
I am very excited to hold my first exhibition, called the Magic of Fog and Light. It features various landscape photos I have taken in Hawke’s Bay and will be held at Creative Arts Napier from 31st January to 13th February 2025.
Fog and light often transform the landscape in Hawke’s Bay, creating scenes of unparalleled beauty and emotional depth. When these conditions occur, I aim to be outside with my camera and bring these elements together to create images that are not just pictures but works of art that tell the story of Hawke’s Bay in all its misty, golden glory.
This exhibition invites viewers on a captivating visual journey through the landscape of Hawke’s Bay when the interplay of fog and light creates a unique canvas, when the ordinary becomes extraordinary, and the familiar environment becomes almost otherworldly. Through careful composition and keen observation, each photograph becomes a narrative, a fleeting moment in time that tells a story of the landscape, the weather, and the light.
Through these photographs, I aim to reveal the magic of fog and light.
The exhibition consists of 16 photographs that were printed very large to create visual impact and provide an immersive experience, making the viewer part of the scene. Overall, the experience is so much better than seeing them on a small screen like your phone or computer.
The following photographs are part of the exhibition:
The images above have been printed at over 1 metre wide on fine art, museum-grade paper and expertly framed for lasting quality. Trust me—they look far more impressive at that scale than on a small screen. See for yourself at Creative Arts Napier, 16 Byron Street, Napier from 31st January to 13th February 2025.
If you aren’t able to make it, or simply want to see the images again, you can find them here as large as your screen allows with their long descriptions.
You can also purchase them on my store as a print and canvas.
